10 Future Cars, Trucks, And SUVs Worth Waiting For: 2023-2026

Trucks, the automobile industry is undergoing change. As automakers migrate, in some cases entirely, to battery power over the next several years, there will be a significant shift towards hybrid and fully electric vehicles. In the near future, buyers will be able to purchase an EV in almost every class, including supercars and hypercars.
However, not all is lost for petrol enthusiasts. With sporty new models on the horizon, manufacturers like Aston Martin, Chevrolet, and Lamborghini want to prolong the life of the internal combustion engine at least a little bit. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of 50 vehicles, trucks, and SUVs that should be available by the end of 2026 in both petrol and hybrid form.

Cars

Giulia Quadrifoglio EV by Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo is one of several companies switching to battery power, producing both plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles. Its classic Giulia sedan will transition from petrol to electricity at some point in the near future. Rumours suggest that the electric Giulia may have up to 1,000 horsepower and that additional body styles, like as a waggon variation, may be added later.

Alfa Romeo Supercar

The rumoured sports vehicle or supercar is another future Alfa; however, it may only have petrol power and should debut before the electric Giulia. The projected Alfa sports car was initially said to be powered by a plug-in hybrid, but recent sources imply that this may be the final “old-school” coupe produced by the company. We are aware that it will have retro design elements (like our depiction shown here) and should be released before the year is over.

Aston Martin Valhalla

The following supercar in the Aston Martin range will be the mid-engined Valhalla. The Aston Martin Valhalla, which is anticipated for early 2024, is said to have a flat-plane-crank V8 engine with up to 900 horsepower and a predicted 0-60 time of three seconds flat.

SUVs

Acura ZDX

The ZDX will be Acura’s first all-electric SUV, and while the Precision EV concept gave us a glimpse of what it may look like, the full-production model is expected to debut the following year. We are aware that it will have angular design cues, a range of more than 300 miles, and Acura just introduced a new infotainment system based on Google.

Cadillac Escalade IQ

There will be more electric SUVs in Cadillac’s portfolio besides the Lyriq. With the forthcoming Escalade IQ, the Escalade is also becoming electrified. The big EV will be built on GM’s Ultium EV platform, but details about its range, power, or pricing are currently unavailable. At the end of this year, the Escalade IQ will make its formal premiere.

Chevrolet Equinox / EV

When the new version of the Chevy Equinox makes its appearance later this year, both petrol and electric versions will be offered. While the Equinox EV has previously been shown in concept form, the gas-powered version will get a tough facelift with a dramatic front end and aggressive lightning accents.

Trucks

Canoo Electric Pickup

Canoo is developing some extremely adorable EVs. This truck, or ute, has been a concept since 2022, but it should eventually hit the market the following year. According to Canoo, the little truck will be capable of up to 500 horsepower and at least 200 miles of range, and it will come with both six- and eight-foot bed options.

Chevrolet Silverado EV

The Silverado EV won’t be delayed much longer for buyers looking for a full-size electric pickup truck that isn’t a Ford or a Rivian. The basic Work Truck will have 510 horsepower and 400 miles of range, while the top-end RST should have a robust 754 horsepower. Chevy’s first electric truck will use parts of the GMC Hummer EV’s drivetrain.

GMC Sierra EV

Following the Silverado to market the following year, the Sierra EV will have many of the same engine options and accessories. The Sierra will start at $100,000 for the Denali Edition 1 and have a range of 400 miles and up to 754 horsepower. Later in 2024 and into 2025, more cheaper models will be released.

Ram 1500 Rev

With the release of the production-ready 1500 Rev later this year, Ram will finally transition to battery power. The Stellantis STLA architecture, created especially for body-on-frame EVs, will be used by the 1500 Rev. It will have two motors with a combined output of 654 horsepower and a range of up to 500 miles.
