In order to produce new-generation electric vans starting in 2026, French automaker Renault is to invest 300 million euros ($323.25 million) at its assembly factory in Sandouville, northern France.
Over the next four years, the business plans to add 550 employees to its 1,850 payroll at the factory, according to a statement.
Within the framework of Renault’s electric vehicle business Flexis, a joint venture with Sweden’s Volvo and the French shipping and logistics giant CMA CGM, is a project to construct a light van specifically intended for last-mile parcel delivery.
The CMA CGM Group has indicated that it is interested in investing up to 120 million euros in the joint venture that they and Volvo officially launched in March after receiving the required regulatory licence, according to us. One dollar is equivalent to 0.9281 euros.
